Short tails tend to shed out in pieces, so don't freak out if that happens. The following are some of the things I'd do to help the process. !!!Warning!!! if your short tail has never been in water, monitor the entire process!!! If she starts going under water, inhaling/ blowing bubbles, raise her upper body so that her nose is above water level. Then support her weight. Pet her tail lightly to calm her down if she's squirming around. I prefer using a small tub to give the snake some leverage so that they don't feel uncomfortable raising her head above water level the entire time. In this case, they'd usually just flex against the tub as they would in their hide box. This will encourage them to stay in the tub. Do this for about 15-30 mins each day until she sheds out. Also, increase the humidity up to 80% in the enclosure. Put a hide box or an item (heavy) with a rough surface in there for them to rub their skin against.
